It is impossible to predict the landscape of the Republican Party four years in advance. It is likely that the primary race in 2024 will begin with a wide open field of potential candidates, allowing any number of politicians, including the incumbent president, to begin their campaign for the nomination. While President Trump’s position in the race may be stronger than many of his potential challengers, the primaries will be a competitive fight and no one candidate can be considered the favorite at this stage.
